Testing systems without unit tests

How to better add tests to systems that got no automated test? Hard work… Not impossible. Worth for future updates and upgrades, but a lot of trouble anyway. Since I’m adding new functionality to it, I’ll start with those, but I’ll definitely need to go back and add tests to the rest. Maybe adding some interface refactoring as well.

The greatest problem is the modularity of the project: Web + Python + PostgreSQL. Adding tests for JavaScript automations, then for Python code and at last for PostgreSQL functions, triggers and stored procedures isn’t easy. Specially if there is a lot being done and now I’m the only one taking care of the project.
